I
extend my sincere thanks to all of the parishioners who so generously
supported our Advent giving project especially in light of the very
tight time frame we were given this year and on-going economic
hardships. It was heartwarming to see the side altar literally
awash in gift bags and stockings filled with warm winter clothes for
newborns and teens and every size in between as well as toys, hats,
mittens, and gloves and so many other thoughtful gifts. Your kind
hearts provided more than
385 gifts! The
number alone is astonishing, the need was greater than ever this year
and you helped so many to experience a truly happy Christmas.
The Turkey Box received donations of gift cards, cash and checks that
were well used to provide last minute gifts for those for whom no
sponsors were found, or Christmas dinners for many hungry families.
A word of thanks to the Immaculate Conception Middle School students and
faculty, they were the delivery elves for all of the gifts brought into
church and the school.
Immaculate Conception is truly a community of generous, compassionate
Christians. You readily share your time, talents, and treasure
with those who have very little or nothing, whenever asked to do so.
Your witness to faith and commitment to the Gospel message are the most
meaningful gifts of all.
